Maybe becaue of CEL light is why the celica unit is still not released.īTW A car with a Power FC and the stock ecu as a piggy back to control maybe the throttle or the Trans will not bas an OBDII Test since it WILL have lots and lots of CEL code stored.

The v-manage will also have the ability to function as a piggy back to the stock ecu cam timming to make tuning simpler to some by having +-20 range of the stock ecu value, but other will want the full control. Thats why the camcon controls vvti by changing the cam angle the ecu see so the ecu make the correction and its happy at the same time. And from the look of the "Coils" you need to buy its too keep the stock ecu semi happy I say semi because the ecu monitors the cam angles and will trigger a cel if they are wrong withing a range.

In theory, if it's tuned right, and you have an OBDII ECU, you could set it up to pass inspection.Ībout it being a stand alone unit by looking a the software there is the fuction to input the direct cam angle you want same goes for the vvti you set it a what you want. If you have a DBW, you need to keep your ECU (technically, the PFC will be working in tandem with the ECU, so it's kind of like using the PFC as a piggyback). You could fail a visual inspection with an S/C. Booseted hasn't completed his AT harness.Īs to emissions - I have no idea. It's just cheaper and easier for me to stick with the emanage and get the vmanage right now. Unfortunately, I'm looking at probably at least $700 for PFC plus datalogit connectors, then another $600+ for the harness, then I need to start retuning all over again.

If I could get the PFC set up on my car for as much or less than the vmanage would cost me, I'd sell the emanage and get the PFC. Overall, PFC is a better controller, but it's (potentially) more expensive and with greater versatility comes greater complexity - that is, the more you can control the more you may need to tune. You can also set up the car to run on a map sensor with a special adapter - the emanage ultimate is actually a pretty capable device! It's a lot better than people tend to think - BUT, it still has to work with the ECU rather than in place of the ECU, so that limitation is always present. Resolution is okay, but not great (16 x 16 maps), but I think multiple maps can be chained together - that is, I think you can set it to have one map control part throttle and a second map to handle WOT - haven't experimented with this, but as I understand it, you can have two inj and ign maps running at the same time.

You can datalog pretty much everything, though you need special adapters to log AFR's (which can also be used to create target maps) and knock. You can tune AFR, valve timing, lift, and ignition in WOT.

You can change the rev limit (a little quirky maybe, though.) You can tune ignition and valve timing in part throttle. No fueling changes in partial throttle - all you can do is minimize fuel trims.
