** If you have Invincibility on (available in the options menu), you can out of respawning in the same room, you'll spawn in the ship, free to explore the game normally. She continues to doubt that the two of them will ever get home, so she needs Captain Viridian's guidance to continue on. As seen in the first intermission, she is afraid that something strange happened, casting her and Captain Viridian into the polar dimension.

If taken to the second intermission stage, he admits to having fun on the Gravitron. If he's rescued early enough, he randomly pops up throughout the game and gives commentary to his surroundings. He isn't afraid of going out to explore and charge into the unknown. He is the first to deduce the situation between the anomalies of the VVVVVV dimension before the others had any idea as to what was going on. ** TheLancer: Doctor Violet, as Captain Viridian works with her occasionally to navigate the dimension. So I changed the first 20 to 1, changed the 19th to 0, and launched the game again.* FiveManBand: Talking with each member at unique times reveals information about their status (although Chief Verdigris is sort of hard to place): ** TheHero: Captain Viridian, of course. Maybe (getting a trinket, trinket count being 20, and all 20 positions being 1s after that) is the trigger? So I restored my old files, went to Victoria, took a trinket from her and observed which 0 changes to 1. Can’t remember what that did, but that wasn’t it. I set the first 20 values to 1s, and went to Victoria again. the same as the number of trinkets I’d collected during the game. I counted those, and there was no 1 after the 20th position, and there were nine 1s in total. The first few values were mixed 1s and 0s, and it was just 0s after those. I went through the rest of tsave.vvv, and there’s a section in there. She gave me a trinket, and now I had 20 trinkets.

Maybe value of trinkets = 20 was the trigger? Nah. Next I tried setting the value to 19 and going to Victoria. Nothing else happened, the alternate ending didn’t play. She gave me another trinket, and the game told me that I now had 21 trinkets. I first tried setting that to 20, and going to Victoria in the spaceship. I’m not sure how significant that is, but I kept both in sync. That indicates the number of trinkets you have collected in the game. There is a trinkets value in there like this. There should be at least two files - tsave.vvv and unlock.vvv. The save files are located in Documents/VVVVVV/saves. So with some help from this guide and some tinkering around, I was able to unlock the gravitron again. Veni vidi vici I can imagine myself attempting again, but definitely not Prize for the Reckless. Last week, I downloaded and finished the game again, but collecting the trinkets again would have been too much.
#VVVVVV SHINY TRINKETS INSTALL#
VVVVVV doesn’t sync game progress apparently, at least not across OSes (I was on Ubuntu 16.04 first, and the new install was on Windows 7).
